Where I talked about a little red beauty complicating things?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Well turns out the owner of that little red beauty ( which looks just like this ):

Just wants to be done with it. The shop is threatening to start charging her storage and she doesn’t have the money to get the motor replaced. So after talking to her for a while last night, she has decided she’d sell it to me.

Taking the wife to check it out tonight, then meeting up with the owner this weekend, so hopefully all goes well and I’ll have yet another van in my driveway!

I’m FUCKING STOKED!

Update:

The lady wasn’t able to get down here this weekend due to the weather , so she told the shop to take it to the scrap yard. Guess I missed this one, at least she was decent enough to let me know.

Assuming the yard actually pulls an axle for me, then new van will be back on the road this weekend.

With those on the road, I’ll get a new motor for the one we’re picking up and get that on the road as well. Then I will have time to get mine figured out.

You know, it took me a while to figure out why that red van looked so familiar. My most vivid memories of the Chrysler vans were the 1st year yellow Voyager that my dad had forever - they put a couple hundred thousand miles on it, and he used to tow his fishing boat, with a 2.2 (!) van.

But they actually loved that van so much, they bought a 2nd van (not a replacement) - and it looked EXACTLY like that red one.

I’ll be painting the bottom and the hood/roof, the rest of the paint is in good shape, so I’ll just leave it alone and blend where it’s needed.
